Hide profile from selected users on whatsapp

WhatsApp is working on a feature that allows users to hide  profile pictures from selected contacts.

WhatsApp has tested many new features to improve the user experience. A new feature that the messaging app discovered during testing could allow users to hide their profile picture (Whatsapp Dp) from some unwanted people added to their contact list. Currently, we have the option to hide our profile picture from everyone, all contacts and anyone. But WhatsApp may soon come with “My contacts except…” option in the list.

According to WhatsApp feature tracker Wabetainfo, WhatsApp was discovered by testing the option to hide profile pictures from selected contacts in the Android beta of the app. “We show screenshots where it is possible to see the new “My Contacts” except “option for Last Seen, but we also state that the same option will also be released for Profile Picture and About. In the new beta update of WhatsApp for Android 2.21.21.2, there is a new hidden imprint on this privacy option,” the report says.

The “My Contacts Except” option is being tested for Whatsapp Dp, but will also be extended to Last seen and Status Information. WhatsApp was previously seen testing the feature on an iOS beta app.
On a related note, WhatsApp is ready to release the ability to encrypt backups using end-to-end encryption for iOS beta apps. It was previously announced by the company that it will now offer end-to-end encryption for chat backups to Google Drive and iCloud as well. WhatsApp claims to be the only large-scale messaging app that offers end-to-end encryption for chat backups as well.

This is an important feature and will increase the privacy and security of many users because when a backup is end-to-end encrypted, no one (including WhatsApp, Facebook, and Apple) can see its content, as it is encrypted using a password or key. 64 digit encryption. According to Wabetainfo, the feature is rolling out today for iOS beta testers specifically for WhatsApp Messenger and Business beta.
