Apple’s October 18 Event: MacBook Pro Launch
Apple announced its upcoming event of the year where we will see some updated products. This is going to be the second event in two months. Last month iPhone 13 series along with iPad, iPad mini and Watch Series 7 was launched in the California Streaming event on September 14. The upcoming event will be streamed on apple’s website and youtube channel. The event will happen on October 18 at 10:30 PM IST. Event details were announced by Greg Joswiak on the social media platform Twitter.
The next event will likely see a new MacBook Pro (16) with an upgraded processor, it may also see a redesigned Mac Mini and possibly AirPods 3. What we may not see during this event is a new MacBook Air, updated Mac Pro, or VR/AR Glasses.

What we can see in MacBook Pro?
Apple will most likely launch one of the most anticipated devices of the year, the MacBook Pro. Premium laptops are available with 14-inch and 16-inch screens.
The MacBook Pro is expected to be powered by a powerful chipset than the existing M1 chip. The new chipset is dubbed “M1X”, however, we may see a different name at launch. According to some rumors, we could see the addition of two more cores to the processor which in turn will increase the performance of the laptop.
In terms of GPU, Apple may upgrade graphics performance by adding a 16-core and/or 32-core GPU in the next MacBook Pro. This is going to be an upgrade from the 8core GPU as seen on the M1 chip.
An important addition to the laptop is the Mini LED display which will likely offer high contrast with enhanced brightness, which in turn improves image quality. As for ports, we’ll likely see a new MagSafe connector, an SD card slot, and an HDMI port.
Apple could also remove the touch panel from the upcoming MacBook Pro, which will feature a 1080p webcam and will likely have a base model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage.
In addition to the new MacBook Pro, let’s see what we might see in the new Mac Mini and AirPods 3.
MAC Mini
The Mac Mini will likely see some design updates and performance improvements through its state-of-the-art “M1X” processor. It is expected to offer up to 64GB of RAM and a maximum of four Thunderbolt 4 inputs, two USBA ports, and a magnetic charging cable. While we may see these updated specs in the next Mac Mini, we can’t say for sure if it will only launch next week.
AirPods 3
AirPods 3 tend to offer better bass than the second-generation earbuds. Wireless charging will likely be a standard feature, and the charging case is expected to have about a 20% larger battery. Since these AirPods weren’t revealed during the September event along with the iPhone 13 series, we might see Apple launch them at next week’s event.
